Hello! My name is Riley Miller, a 24-year-old Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate with a concentration in Animation and VFX. I am an artist skilled in both digital and traditional media. I have a strong passion for all things creative, especially visual storytelling and mixed media arts. My current goal is to start as a Production Assistant to gain animation industry experience, learn different roles, and discover which area I feel most passionate about!When I'm not engaged in my latest drawing, coming up with story ideas, or getting messy with actual paint- you'll find me blasting my favorite music, watching the latest movies, or spending time with my cat, Nova!

Personal Work

Project: "Everything I want to Be"

In my final semester of University, I was tasked with writing a project proposal and creating 3 finished works. I presented the following proposal to my painting professor:"I plan on making a series of experimental works using the airbrush, and hand-cut stencils, incorporating collage-like elements that deal with the theme of personal joys and dreams from childhood to adulthood. The three works will be portrait-esque works involving things I fell out of touch with as I have gotten older, such as playing guitar, ballet, or skating. While also embodying things I currently love and dreams I never attempted due to fear.The new set of works will build off of previous works of mine such as skater boy v1 (2024) and “She’s Still Here, I’m Still Here” (2023), with more focus and experimentation on combining the airbrush with mixed media elements. My main inspirations for this project are street art, pop art, and the early 2000s which will embody colors and other aesthetics I want to use more of."The culmination of this project proposal resulted in my works titled getting back up (2024), another moment follows (2024), and flowers grow (2024), all pictured in the gallery below.

nightcrawling - Thesis film

Nightcrawling is a short animated film created in my Fall 2023 Production Studio class as a part of my Senior Thesis. I worked alongside a team of 7 other students as Production Director, and we completed a 2-minute animated film in less than 16 weeks.Film Festival Selections

Wildflowers - aNIMATIC

"Wildflowers" is an in-progress 2-minute student short film created by a fellow student and me. The short film tells the story of a lost sprite who stumbles upon an abandoned greenhouse, where it finds an overgrown garden and a crying statue.
